Call for applications: Blue Pacific Programs Manager (WWF) - Location negotiable

The role leads WWF-Australia's strategic engagement in the Pacific and Australian foreign policy relevant to WWF's objectives in the Pacific. The role manages high-level government and partner relationships and oversees program and policy development, governance and execution, including raising funds in support of new proposals. As one of WWF-Australia's key contact points with WWF offices in Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Fiji, the roe willl also lead WWF-Australia's efforts to support capacity development of those offices and Pacific civil society more broadly.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • International development experience within Pacific cultural and/or organisational contexts
  • Advanced experience in project development and management in international contexts, with a focus on international development, Pacific regional policy, and/or climate change
  • Understanding of the environmental, social and economic issues affecting countries and communities in the Pacific
  • Knowledge of current international development issues in Australia and the Pacific, including major global processes and relevant initiatives
  • Advanced level program and project management experience including human resources and financial management • Highly effective influencing skills including the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, including an ability to identify strategic issues and develop innovative responses to achieve desired outcomes
  • An ability to work autonomously and constructively across a flexible team-based environment
  • Advanced advocacy, interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Melanesian Pidgin, Fijian and/or other Pacific languages Ideally you will have experience working with a Pacific regional organisation (CROP agency, international NGO or similar), experience in designing and managing capacity building initiatives...

Call for applications: Country Director (NGO)

Immediate requirement for a Country Director to lead a well-established Global NGO with 20 years’ experience working in Papua New Guinea.

The country director will be responsible for design, financing, promotion, and execution of all the company’s activities within PNG. The perfect candidate should have the following :

  • Extensive Leadership experience and a proven track record of recruiting, training, and developing staff in an outcome driven environment.
  • Over 7 + years in a senior capacity in private or public sector.
  • Ability to project manage multiple initiates while managing the interests of the business with external and external stakeholders.
  • Managing and setting budgets, Full P&L management experience in leading a business and making decisions while understanding the operating costs
  • Proven track record of business acumen and strategy
  • Proven experience as the lead representative to external audiences within PNG (Staff, Government agencies, Community Leaders, Public and Private donors, business leaders and partners)
  • Ability to oversee fundraising, marketing, strategic communications, HR, budget and resource allocation; and
  • Must hold Full working rights (PR) in PNG to be able to apply.
