Stock Assessment Workshop 1 (SAW I)
The long-term purpose of the Stock Assessment Workshop (SAWs), which have been held annually since 2006, is to increase the ability of Pacific Island country and territory fisheries officers to: understand and interpret the results from the regional oceanic fisheries stock assessments; communicate this information to fishery managers and stakeholders within their country or territory; and increase their confidence to participate in scientific discussions of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC), in particular during meetings of its Scientific Committee.
